Developmental Differences

“It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences.” ~Audre Lorde

Each child grows at an individual pace, but research shows that a child's first three years are the most important time for learning. Getting help early puts your child on the right path to learn and develop at their full potential. Some types of developmental delays, such as speech, gross motor, and fine motor delays, may be apparent during infancy or in the toddler years. Other types, such as high-level cognitive, sensory processing, social and emotional delays, may only become obvious when a child begins school.

Early diagnosis and intervention are key to getting children the help they need. Doctors (pediatricians, psychologists, psychiatrists, neurologists, etc.) evaluate children of all ages. Specialists use information from various assessments to develop an individualized treatment plan for your child. Please click on the links below to gather additional information.
